Our Money or Our Life?
Join Extinction Rebellion and ordinary people from all of the Nordic countries for a historically large demonstration of civil disobedience in Oslo 21.-29. August!
Norway needs to make a choice: Are we going to continue prioritizing money, development, industry and oil each time these values are in conflict with climate and nature? Or are we going to change the dangerous path we are on before it is too late?
During the weeklong Nordic Rebellion, XR will put forwards the following two demands: "Keep it in the ground!" and "Life over profit". Oil and gas are Norways biggest sin. We are joining forces with our Nordic neighbours and friends to stop the Norweigan government and its fossil fuel criminals from destroying the climate for oil money. Extinction Rebellion demands a rapid downsizing of oil production on the Norwegian continental shelf - and an immediate halt to the exploration for new oil fields.
Furthermore, XR will draw attention to the dangers of unbridled economic growth. Through demonstrations, street art and festivals, we will explore and shed light on this crucial dilemma for our time. Through artistic and other means, we wish to show everyone how our restless search for more riches leads to devastation: the destruction of fertile soil, forrests and animal welfare to make room for highways, runways, windmills, salmon farms, oil fields and deposits of mining waste in fjords. We need to put on the brakes now, before it is too late. We need to protect what remains of nature, and prioritize life over profit.
XR says: We are wealthy enough now. We cannot continue to strive for more riches at the expence of life on earth.

The world is ravaged by an oil-drinking economic monster that is destroying the climate, nature and human lives. Our finance sector must stop propping up this monster and feeding it oil, and start genuinely serving human needs.
Life over profit
Our economy has become an out-of-control, oil-drinking monster that is ruining the climate, nature and human lives.
We call on our governments to get the economic monster under control and stop the destruction.
We call on our governments to respect nature's boundries, ending the pursuit of growth at all cost.
We call on our governments to value life over profit.
